your functions

Are you a detail-oriented, analytical thinker with a passion for market analysis and risk management? We have a unique opportunity with one of our esteemed clients in the food & beverage sector. This role involves analyzing both physical and derivative products, providing price and volatility forecasts, and implementing hedging strategies to protect the business against market risks.
You will be reporting to a Global Commodities Risk and Trading Manager providing day to day support on market activity and analytics to allow them to make informed decision that maximise value to the company. You will also be provided with excellent training and leadership from your Manager, offering you great insights into the world of commodities risk management, trading and procurement to guide your future career development.

Conduct in-depth market analysis, including fundamental research, to forecast prices and trends in areas such as sugar, oils, dairy, energy, packaging, and related macro markets.
Provide key insights to the business and risk management teams, helping drive informed decision-making on pricing and hedging strategies.
Assess business risk exposure across price, duration, and volatility, and provide recommendations for effective risk mitigation.
Collaborate with procurement teams to support the physical procurement process, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
Maintain close relationships with industry suppliers, traders, and gather market intelligence to ensure strategic positioning.
Assist in the implementation of hedge accounting principles and compliance with internal policies.
Partner with various business functions to ensure timely and accurate reporting, driving process improvements where necessary.

Education: A university degree in Economics, Finance, or Engineering.

Solid understanding of procurement processes, commodity trading, derivatives, and/or risk management strategies.
Ability to distill complex market data into clear, concise insights for stakeholders.
Strong communication skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
Ability to work independently and show entrepreneurial initiative.
